Oceano – The Price of Pain

Deathcore heavyweights, Oceano, unleashed “The Price of Pain” on July 11, 2024. The track helped build anticipation for their album, Living Chaos, which was released the following month. While both introspective and heavy, the song is a headbanging emotional journey; lyrics such as “You can feel it deep beneath / The ground is trembling / Imminent destruction now apparent / Encroaching, Now that you see the carnage, destined / Do you regret it?” exemplify this. Between the gutturals and highs, the song is brutal and full of contrast.

Vocalist Adam Warren offered insight into the song, “‘The Price of Pain’ unravels a story of inner turmoil, suffering and sacrifice. Enjoy the song, dig into the lyrics, and witness the rest of the story unfold when our new music video releases! I can't wait for you all to see it!”

The cinematic music video followed the release by a week. Directed by Matthue Cole, it depicts a party gone wrong after meeting a woman. She stares at the vocalist through the crowd, and then the vocalist is shown restrained by barbed wire. The flashing imagery, intense camera movements, and contrast between the neon party and the violent scene the vocalist is found in make for a perfect match for the brutal track.
