I See Stars – Split

In the wake of their successful tour, I See Stars unleashed their honest experience navigating the brutal industry through their single “Split.” The single joined the previously released “are we 3ven?,” “D4MAGE DONE,” “Anomaly,” and “Drift” in anticipation of the group's 2025 album The Wheel.

“Split” furthers I See Stars’ signature blend of electronic elements and metalcore with a dynamic vocal delivery that cycles through talk-singing, high belts, and urgent screams. Through its emotional sonic design and vulnerable lyrics, the single exemplifies the exhaustion and struggle that the depths of the music industry can bring to the surface.

Vocalist Devin Oliver shares, “‘Split’ takes you through the highs and lows of our journey as artists, from being signed at 15 and leaving high school to pursue our dreams, to exploring the mental toll and constant self-doubt. It highlights how the industry once felt divided by the machine, splitting artists up & weakening them/stripping them of their power. As you navigate the smoke and mirrors, you’re left with a version of yourself you don’t even recognize, constantly questioning what you’d be willing to do for your dreams. How far are you willing to go? What sacrifices are you willing to make for your dream?”

On September 12, 2025, I See Stars unleashed their sixth studio album, The Wheel. Its title and imagery were derived from an online spinning wheel. Every day, the band would put all of their songs into the wheel, along with other tasks, and allow it to decide their focus for the day. While the spinning wheel began as a joke, the concept of leaving choices up to fate and trusting the universe became very important to the group. The album’s opening track, “Spin It,” is simply the sound of a wheel spinning for this reason.

I See Stars revealed, “The last time we spent this much time on a record was our debut album, ‘3D’. ‘The Wheel’ is a time capsule capturing the past seven years of our lives. It’s a culmination of everything we’ve experienced individually, together, and as human beings navigating the chaos of the world. We truly poured everything into it & we are so excited to finally share it with our fans.”
