Gvllow – It’s So Cold

Raised in Riverside, California, Gvllow began his musical journey at age nine on the drums. He immersed himself in the SOCal punk scene, frequenting the Showcase Theater in Corona to see his favorite bands and artists. In 2025, he entered the underground rap scene and found himself DJing for artists such as Ghostmane and Lil Peep. His solo music blends all corners of his musical upbringing, living in a darkwave space infused with elements of post-punk and rap.

In 2023, Gvllow released “It’s So Cold.” “I wrote this song back in the beginning of 2023 when it was consistently cold every single day in Southern California. I was recording in a weird space that I had rented out for a little bit in between moving and it made me realise how much of a home body I am. I love being home, it was freezing outside, and I was having all kinds of weird dreams from melatonin and out came the lyrics for this instrumental I had written for weeks. Dreams about ghosts from my past, being too far away from home, and being cold every day.” Gvllow reveals, “Sometimes it takes me weeks to write lyrics to my songs but I’ve just learned to let them come to me, I don’t force it anymore.”

Alongside the darkwave track is its music video, directed by Nas Bogado. It captures Gvllow performing and smashing glass in a room that echoes the urban-gothic atmosphere. Through black-and-white shots and blue-drenched foggy scenes, the essence of “It’s So Cold” is perfectly matched.

“It’s So Cold” arrived as a single off Gvllow’s 2024 album Twin Flames, which features songs such as “Last Dance” and “Pray To God” that showcase his signature style. Fans crept from both the more gothic edges and the more hip-hop-centered parts of music to praise the album for its seamless blend of sounds.
