Garzi – Much Better
In 2017, Garzi released his first track, then immediately quit his job to focus on music.
Jump to 2024, after securing a record deal with Sumerian, he kicked off the year with his pop-punk anthem “Much Better.” While catchy and upbeat, it details a real-life mental health struggle that millions face today. Garzi explains that it is “a song that touches on depression being recognised as the dopamine of validation while also having head-trip battles with the inner voice trying to convince oneself that they are ‘feeling much better.’”
He continues, “In those moments of feeling better, we try to hang onto it and keep it together. It’s a powerful message disguised as a big song.”
The music video depicts Garzi driving/walking/singing in various locations. The aimless wandering showcases the reality of forcing yourself to keep going while your brain is working against you. Having a very relatable, “everyday” music video also embodies just how common the experience is.
The song arrived shortly before his tour with PartyOf2 (then known as Group Therapy). The short tour brought them from Brooklyn, New York, to Sacramento, California, bringing Garzi’s modern pop-punk genius across the country.
