Face Yourself – Fractures
Following the success of Martyr, which has amassed over 1.5 million streams since its release in April 2025, came the announcement of Fury. It was created in collaboration with longtime producer Joey Sturgis, known for his work with The Devil Wears Prada and Asking Alexandria. Fury, the band's second EP with Sumerian Records, was praised for its brutal essence and sinister atmosphere upon its release on September 26, 2025.
Following Face Yourself’s 20-stop “Summer of Rampage Tour” with Crystal Lake, VCTMS, and Not Enough Space came the EP’s lead single and album announcement. “Fractures” covers the topics of self-hatred and beauty standards in a crushingly heavy single. Crystal Lake makes a surprise appearance during the song’s breakdown, adding the vocalist's distinct gutturals to the mix. The drop-tuned track hits hard, a bold expression of anger and the pressures imposed by societal standards.
Upon release, vocalist Yasmine Liverneaux shared, “We are excited to release our new single ‘Fractures’ produced by Joey Sturgis. The lyrics explore a darker theme, as it speaks a lot about self hatred, exploring the pressure of beauty standards and the ‘mutilations’ those pressures can lead someone to. It’s like changing your appearance so much to fit a mold to the point that you don’t even recognize yourself which can be very violent.”
Alongside the striking single is its equally intense music video. It was directed by Eric Dicarlo and shot by James Perry. Cycling between a cool and warm color scheme, the video captures Face Yourself delivering their signature high-energy live performance through various clips on tour. Crystal Lake’s live set appears alongside their feature, continuing the intensity.
“Fractures” opened the doors to a new era of Face Yourself; through the single, the band explores introspective themes in the heaviest light possible, marking them as a unique force in the deathcore universe.
