Bones UK – Fix
Following the release of their acclaimed single “Bikinis” and building on the success of their 2019 Grammy-nominated self-titled debut, Bones UK unleashed “Fix” on July 17, 2024.
Delivered through a bouncy, rock track, “Fix” tells the story of a relationship where both parties think they can fix the other and heal their wounds, only to cause more pain. It rides on the idea of healing oneself before helping others, and navigating a destructive cycle that can destroy relationships and retain perpetual pain. The chorus shows a first-person perspective of the struggle while Rosie Bone’s chants: “And I thought maybe I was fading / So why don’t you just erase me / If I can fix you then you can fix me / If I can fix you maybe you can fix me / Wanna be spectacularly lonely.”
The track's red-coated music video depicts the duo playing with bubbles and giant dandelions between scenes of them frozen in an action-figure-esque fashion. It was directed by both William Kennedy and Edmund Fraser while originating from the brains of Rosie Oddie and Kennedy.
“Fix” built anticipation for their sophomore album, Soft, which was released on September 13, 2024. Their unapologetic collection of songs was praised for its rock riffs, catchy hooks, and bold lyrics. It also featured numerous notable collaborators, including Billy Corgan (The Smashing Pumpkins) and Mike Shuman (Queens of the Stone Age). Rosie Bones described the album as “everything you loved about the first record, turned up.” She continues, “Keeping things scrappy, raw and real, with enough electronic beats to keep our industrial dance-heads happy and enough heartbreakers to keep our romantics listening.”
