Nita Strauss – Alegria
The 2018 arrival of Nita Strauss’s debut studio album, Controlled Chaos, delivered the catchy, high-energy single “Alegria.” In an interview with Ultimate Guitar, Strauss stated, “The great thing about these songs, they can kind of mean anything. With lyrics, you're sort of told what to think, 'This is what the song is about,' you know, 'This song is about love in an elevator. But with these songs, it's so subjective, it can be whatever the listener interprets it.”
Controlled Chaos amounted to an immediate success, achieving top chart placements and widespread critical acclaim. Publications including AllMusic, Metal Injection, Guitar World, and Louder, among others, praised the album and Strauss’s unparalleled guitar ability. Notably, most of Controlled Chaos was written while Strauss was on the road with Alice Cooper.
The music video for “Alegria” arrived on December 13, 2019, continuing the momentum brought by Controlled Chaos. Strauss and her drummer are depicted in the middle of a city, upon the roof of a high building. In front of the city skyline, the pair delivers an electrifying performance of the song. The vibrant playing mirrors the track’s infectious energy, capturing the spirit of its title and leaving listeners with a sense of pure joy.
